Set in a large private garden on an organic farm 5-10 minutes walk from Hay-on-Wye town centre, this house makes an ideal holiday location for family gatherings or holidays. However, the house is compact enough to feel cosy for as few as 2 people too!

Sleeps 7 persons with an option to make ‘family rooms’ with 2 x additional beds available.

Designed to make the best use of the wonderful views of its location on a former tennis court, Racquety Lodge offers a chance to stay in a truly unique house. There are 2 double bedrooms which can sleep 1 or 2 extra people. The rooms can be used as family rooms or make comfortable sleeping for friends.

There is a large sitting room with a fabulous view and a spacious kitchen, a pantry, and a laundry room to hang those wet coats or swimming costumes in.

Racquety Lodge is next to The Wye Valley Walk and close to Offa’s Dyke Path. The summit of Hay Bluff can be reached in a morning walk from Racquety Lodge. There is little need to use the car for either shopping during the day, or eating out at night in the good restaurants and pubs in Hay-on-Wye, as the town is an easy stroll away on a safe paved path or across the fields.

Canoes can be hired close by to enjoy the wonderful experience of seeing the river and all the wildlife on the river bank from water level. www.canoehire.co.uk

The owners, Ros and Geoff, live close by and therefore can offer a lifetime’s knowledge of the area to help you choose where to go and what to see during your stay. There is a wealth of history, art and cultural activities to participate in and view in this region of the Welsh borders. Sporting activities, horse riding, river swimming, walking, climbing, and even gliding and flying can all be experienced close by.

Solar panels and wood-fired energy are features of the house. We will make up wood burning stoves before you arrive and show you how to use them correctly if you are unfamiliar with wood-fired appliances. There is oil-fired central heating on a timer available as well as the wood stoves.

The house has 2 x bath and shower rooms and 3 toilets. Dishwasher, washing machine, well-equipped kitchen with a choice of wood-fired Esse cooker or electric fan oven and gas hob. Free Wi-Fi, large television and good mobile reception.
